EODS advanced online training for Social Media Analysts

The training brought together a group of EU experts who had either been deployed as SMAs in only one EU Election Observation Mission (EOM), worked on EU Electoral Expert Missions (EEMs) as SMA/MA (Media Analyst) experts, or previously completed the EODS SMA training.

The objective of the training was to enhance participants’ ability to set up and manage social media monitoring projects during EU EOMs, with a specific focus on the use of social listening tools. On the first day, the EODS methodological framework was revisited, and participants had the opportunity to explore and familiarise themselves with the main tools used in the field.

The second day aimed to build participants’ confidence in applying the methodology, with a particular focus on identifying patterns of Information Manipulation and Hate Speech exploring different tactics & techniques. 

This training, developed by EODS, is an advanced training designed to support the development of social media analysts working in EU EOMs and to foster methodological consistency and familiarity with up-to-date social listening tools.
